Pilates Studio Etiquette

Please follow these simple guidelines to ensure a pleasant experience for everyone.

  • Please arrive on time. It is not only disrupting to the teacher and other students, but you miss out on important cues and body awareness techniques that are required for you to have a fully integrated Pilates experience when you come to class late.

  • Wear fitted, comfortable (not baggy) clothing. No hoodies please!

  • Be sure to sign in before classes online, and if you can’t come to class, please adjust your sign up.

  • Please clean up after yourself: return props neatly to their proper places, ready for use by the next clients, as well as wipe down all equipment you have used.

  • Please familiarize yourself with the studio’s cancellation and class-expiration policies.

  • Classes are practiced in grip socks.

  • As some clients are allergic, please refrain from wearing perfume or cologne.

  • Pilates should not be practiced on a full stomach, and you will do better if you arrive to class well hydrated.

  • Expect helpful, specific feedback and correction on exercise form.

  • Cell phones - We ask that the studio be an electronic free zone. We hope you can get away from it all – just for this one hour.

  • If you are dealing with a new injury or any other limitation, please advise the teacher before the beginning of class.

  • Please be mindful of your fellow students.

  • Respect your body: challenge yourself, but go at your own pace and rest if you need to.

  • Please use your better judgement when coming into the studio when you have a contagious illness.

  • No gum please!

  • Please do not come to Pilates immediately following a chiropractic or massage appointment.

  • If you have zippers on your clothing please cover them with tape. The zippers scratch and tear the equipment.
